दिल्ली सरकार ने पिछले साल कृषि कानूनों के खिलाफ आंदोलन के दौरान यहां पुलिस द्वारा दर्ज किए गए 17 मामलों को वापस लेने की मंजूरी दे दी है। इनमें गणतंत्र दिवस पर हुई हिंसा से संबंधित एक मामला भी शामिल है। एक वरिष्ठ सरकारी अधिकारी ने मंगलवार को यह जानकारी दी। उन्होंने कहा कि उपराज्यपाल अनिल बैजल के कार्यालय ने मामलों से संबंधित फाइल 31 जनवरी को दिल्ली के गृह मंत्री सत्येंद्र जैन को भेजी थी। जैन ने इसे मंजूरी देकर 25 फरवरी को मुख्यमंत्री कार्यालय भेज दिया। मुख्यमंत्री कार्यालय ने 28 फरवरी को फाइल उपराज्यपाल कार्यालय भेज दी और उपराज्यपाल ने उसी दिन इसे मंजूरी दे दी।
दिल्ली पुलिस ने नवंबर 2020 से दिसंबर 2021 के दौरान दर्ज किए गए 54 मामलों में से 17 को वापस लेने का फैसला किया था। इसमें लगभग 200-300 प्रदर्शनकारियों और 25 ट्रैक्टरों के लाहौरी गेट के जरिये लाल किले पहुंचने का मामला भी शामिल है, जिसके चलते टिकट काउंटरों और सुरक्षा जांच उपकरणों को नुकसान हुआ था। इसके अलावा 150-175 ट्रैक्टरों पर सवार होकर उत्तर प्रदेश के लोनी से दिल्ली में प्रवेश करने वाले किसानों के खिलाफ उत्तर-पूर्वी दिल्ली के ज्योति नगर पुलिस थाने में एक मामला दर्ज किया गया था। आरोप है कि उन किसानों ने पुलिसकर्मियों के कर्तव्यों में बाधा डाली और उन पर हमला किया।
अधिकतर मामले दिल्ली के सिंघू, टिकरी और गाजीपुर बॉर्डर पर कृषि कानूनों के खिलाफ एक साल तक चले किसान आंदोलन के दौरान कोविड-19 नियमों और दिशा-निर्देशों के उल्लंघन से संबंधित हैं। आंदोलनकारी किसानों ने संसद द्वारा पारित कृषि कानूनों को वापस लेने की मांग करते हुए नवंबर 2020 में दिल्ली की सीमाओं पर डेरा डाल दिया था। मोदी सरकार द्वारा कृषि कानूनों को वापस लिये जाने के बाद किसानों ने दिसंबर 2021 में आंदोलन खत्म कर दिया।
केंद्र ने नवंबर 2020 से दिसंबर 2021 के बीच प्रदर्शनकारियों के खिलाफ दर्ज मामलों को वापस लेने की संयुक्त किसान मोर्चा की मांग पर भी सहमति जताई थी। केंद्र ने 9 दिसंबर, 2021 को एक पत्र में कहा था कि किसानों के आंदोलन के दौरान प्रदर्शनकारियों और उनके समर्थकों के खिलाफ दर्ज किए गए मामले तुरंत वापस लेने पर सहमति बन गई है। इसके बाद, एसकेएम ने 11 दिसंबर, 2021 को एसकेएम ने आंदोलन खत्म कर दिया था।
