पात्रा ने भाजपा नेता शुभेन्दु अधिकारी के नेतृत्व वाली तिरंगा यात्रा को प्रतिबंधित करने को लेकर पश्चिम बंगाल की तृणमूल कांग्रेस सरकार की भी आलोचना की और कहा कि इससे पता चलता है कि संबंधित पार्टी देशभक्ति और राष्ट्रवाद से कितनी दूर है। भाजपा ने जम्मू-कश्मीर के चार सरकारी कर्मचारियों को बर्खास्त करने के फैसले का भी स्वागत किया, जिनमें आतंकवादी समूह हिजबुल मुजाहिदीन के सरगना सैयद सलाहुद्दीन का बेटा भी शामिल है। पात्रा ने कहा कि पार्टी की आतंकवाद के प्रति ‘कतई बर्दाश्त नहीं करने’ की नीति है और केंद्रशासित प्रदेश में आतंकी गतिविधियों में कमी आई है।
