दिल्ली नगर निगम (एमसीडी) के आयुक्त ज्ञानेश भारती ने इसके विशेष अधिकारी के समक्ष नगर निकाय का बजट पेश किया। आधिकारिक सूत्रों ने यह जानकारी दी। संवैधानिक प्रावधानों के तहत आयुक्त द्वारा 10 दिसंबर से पहले वार्षिक बजट पेश करना होता है। सूत्रों ने बताया कि महापौर की अध्यक्षता में सदन की विशेष बैठक में बजट सदन के नेता द्वारा मंजूर किया जाता है।
चार दिसंबर को हुए एमसीडी चुनाव के नतीजे बुधवार को आये थे, लेकिन नये सदन की बैठक अभी बुलायी जानी बाकी है, इसलिए दिल्ली को एमसीडी चुनाव के बाद अबतक अपना नया महापौर नहीं मिला है। एक आधिकारिक सूत्र ने बताया कि आयुक्त ने एमसीडी का जो बजट पेश किया, है उसमें 2022-23 के लिए संशोधित बजट अनुमान तथा 2023-24 के लिए बजट अनुमान है। सूत्रों ने कहा कि चूंकि फिलहाल सदन अस्तित्व में नहीं है, इसलिए बजट विशेष अधिकारी के समक्ष पेश किया गया, जिन्हें स्थायी समिति के समकक्ष का पद प्राप्त है।
