दिल्ली में हाल में हुए नगर निगम चुनावों के लिए लागू आदर्श आचार संहिता (एमसीसी) को हटा लिया गया है। राज्य निर्वाचन आयोग (एसईसी) ने सोमवार को यह जानकारी दी। एसईसी के एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने कहा कि यह निर्णय ”चुनाव प्रक्रिया समाप्त हो जाने” के मद्देनजर लिया गया है। राज्य निर्वाचन आयुक्त विजय देव ने चार नवंबर को संवाददाता सम्मेलन में चुनाव के कार्यक्रम की घोषणा की थी। चार दिसंबर को मतदान हुआ था जबकि मतगणना सात दिसंबर को हुई थी।
एसईसी ने दिल्ली के मुख्य सचिव और अन्य अधिकारियों को भेजे एक पत्र में कहा कि आदर्श आचार संहिता के प्रावधान राज्य निर्वाचन आयोग द्वारा चुनाव कार्यक्रम की घोषणा की तारीख से लागू होते हैं और यह चुनाव प्रक्रिया पूरी होने तक लागू रहता है। बारह दिसंबर के एक पत्र में कहा गया है, दिल्ली नगर निगम के संबंध में परिणाम की घोषणा हो चुकी है, ऐसे में चार नवंबर से प्रभावी आदर्श आचार संहिता, दिल्ली में तत्काल प्रभाव से हटाई जाती है।
आम आदमी पार्टी (आप) ने 134 वार्ड में जीत हासिल करने के साथ दिल्ली नगर निगम पर भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) के 15 साल के शासन को समाप्त कर दिया। भाजपा 104 वार्ड में जीत के साथ दूसरे स्थान पर रही। आदर्श आचार संहिता के हटने से, दिल्ली सरकार की रुकी हुई परियोजनाएं फिर से शुरू हो जाएंगी और सरकार महत्वपूर्ण बैठकें कर सकेगी। सरकार अब ‘दिल्ली शॉपिंग फेस्टिवल’ और ‘दिल्लीअंतरराष्ट्रीय फिल्म महोत्सव’ की मेजबानी की योजना पर आगे बढ़ेगी।
