आम आदमी पार्टी (AAP) ने बृहस्पतिवार को आदर्श नगर वार्ड से निर्वाचित हुए अपने पार्षद मुकेश गोयल को दिल्ली नगर निगम (MCD) में सदन का नेता नियुक्त किया। पार्टी पदाधिकारियों ने यह जानकारी दी। इससे पहले दिल्ली के उप राज्यपाल वी.के. सक्सेना ने छह जनवरी को नगर निकाय का महापौर चुनने के लिए आयोजित होने वाली एमसीडी की पहली बैठक के लिए भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) के पार्षद सत्य शर्मा को पीठासीन अधिकारी नामित किया।
चार दिसंबर को नगर निकाय चुनाव संपन्न होने के बाद पहली बार शुक्रवार को एमसीडी सदन की बैठक होगी जिसमें नवनिर्वाचित पार्षद शपथ लेंगे और महापौर व उप महापौर का चुनाव होगा। महापौर का चुनाव सात दिसंबर को मतगणना होने और नतीजे आने के करीब एक महीने बाद होने जा रहा है। इस चुनाव में ‘आप’ ने भाजपा को 15 साल के बाद एमसीडी की सत्ता से बेदखल करते हुए 250 सदस्यीय निकाय में 134 सीटों पर जीत दर्ज की। वहीं, 104 पार्षदों के साथ भाजपा दूसरे स्थान पर रही जबकि कांग्रेस के खाते में नौ सीटें गईं।
