दिल्ली उच्च न्यायालय ने कहा है कि विवाहित महिलाओं को क्रूरता से बचाने पर केंद्रित घरेलू हिंसा कानून के तहत प्रथम दृष्टया पति और परिवार के पुरुष सदस्यों को संरक्षण प्राप्त नहीं है। न्यायमूर्ति जसमीत सिंह ने यह टिप्पणी एक महिला की याचिका पर सुनवाई करते हुए की और घरेलू हिंसा कानून के तहत पुरुष द्वारा शुरू की गई कार्यवाही पर रोक लगा दी। महिला ने पति द्वारा उसके खिलाफ मजिस्ट्रेट अदालत के समक्ष दायर की गई शिकायत को रद्द करने का आग्रह किया था। उच्च न्यायालय ने कहा कि घरेलू हिंसा कानून के तहत प्रथम दृष्टया परिवार के पुरुष सदस्यों, खासकर पति को संरक्षण प्राप्त नहीं है। मामले में अगली सुनवाई 14 फरवरी को होगी।
