भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) राज्यसभा में सभापति जगदीप धनखड़ के बारे में टिप्पणी के लिए कांग्रेस के नेताओं मल्लिकार्जुन खरगे और जयराम रमेश के खिलाफ विशेषाधिकार हनन का नोटिस दाखिल कर रही है। भाजपा सूत्रों ने बृहस्पतिवार को यह जानकारी दी। उन्होंने कहा कि भाजपा के दो सांसद यह प्रस्ताव पेश करेंगे। पार्टी का कहना है कि विपक्ष के निरंतर हमलों से उपराष्ट्रपति धनखड़ का मजबूत बचाव करने के लिए ऐसा किया जा रहा है। सूत्रों ने कहा कि रमेश ने ब्रिटेन में कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी की टिप्पणी की आलोचना करने पर धनखड़ के बारे में चीयरलीडर शब्द का इस्तेमाल किया था।
भाजपा का आरोप है कि गांधी ने अपने बयानों से भारतीय लोकतंत्र का अपमान किया है। खरगे ने कहा था कि पीठासीन अधिकारियों को सत्तारूढ़ दल के प्रति पक्षपात या वफादारी जाहिर नहीं करनी चाहिए। खरगे उच्च सदन में नेता प्रतिपक्ष हैं, तो रमेश मुख्य सचेतक हैं। सत्तारूढ़ पार्टी के एक सूत्र ने कहा कि इन टिप्पणियों का उद्देश्य सभापति के पद का अनादर करना है। विशेषाधिकार हनन का नोटिस सभापति के कार्यालय में दिया जाता है, जो आगे की कार्रवाई के लिए इसे विशेषाधिकार समिति को भेजने के बारे में निर्णय लेता है।
