प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी जी-7 समूह और क्वाड सहित तीन प्रमुख बहुपक्षीय शिखर सम्मेलनों में भाग लेने के लिए शुक्रवार को जापान, पापुआ न्यू गिनी और ऑस्ट्रेलिया की छह दिवसीय यात्रा पर जाएंगे। विदेश मंत्रालय ने इसकी घोषणा की। अपनी यात्रा के पहले चरण में मोदी 19 मई से 21 मई तक जापानी शहर हिरोशिमा का दौरा करेंगे, जहां वह दुनिया की विकसित अर्थव्यवस्थाओं वाले देशों के समूह जी-7 के वार्षिक शिखर सम्मेलन में हिस्सा लेंगे। इस दौरान मोदी जी-7 सत्रों में भागीदार देशों के साथ शांति, स्थिरता और धरती की समृद्धि, तथा खाद्यान्न, उर्वरक और ऊर्जा सुरक्षा जैसे विषयों पर अपने विचार प्रकट करेंगे।
मंत्रालय ने एक बयान में कहा कि मोदी जापान से पोर्ट मोरेस्बी की यात्रा करेंगे, जहां वह 22 मई को पापुआ न्यू गिनी के प्रधानमंत्री जेम्स मारपे के साथ संयुक्त रूप से फोरम फॉर इंडिया-पैसिफिक आइलैंड्स को-ऑपरेशन (एफआईपीआईसी) के तीसरे शिखर सम्मेलन की मेजबानी करेंगे। किसी भारतीय प्रधानमंत्री की पापुआ न्यू गिनी की यह पहली यात्रा होगी। वर्ष 2014 में शुरू किए गए एफआईपीआईसी में भारत और 14 प्रशांत द्वीप देश शामिल हैं – जिनमें फिजी, पापुआ न्यू गिनी, टोंगा, तुवालु, किरिबाती, समोआ, वानुअतु, नीयू, फेडरेटेड स्टेट्स ऑफ माइक्रोनेशिया, रिपब्लिक ऑफ मार्शल आइलैंड्स, कुक आइलैंड्स, पलाऊ, नाउरू और सोलोमन द्वीप सम्मिलित हैं।
अपनी यात्रा के तीसरे और अंतिम चरण में मोदी क्वाड शिखर सम्मेलन में भाग लेने के लिए 22 से 24 मई तक सिडनी में रहेंगे। क्वाड शिखर सम्मेलन की मेजबानी ऑस्ट्रेलियाई प्रधानमंत्री एंथनी अल्बनीस द्वारा की जा रही है। इस सम्मेलन में अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति जो बाइडन और जापानी प्रधानमंत्री किशिदा फुमियो भी शामिल होंगे। मोदी की जापान यात्रा पर विदेश मंत्रालय ने कहा कि वह किशिदा के निमंत्रण पर देश की यात्रा कर रहे हैं। जापान जी-7 समूह के मौजूदा अध्यक्ष के रूप में इसके शिखर सम्मेलन की मेजबानी कर रहा है।
विदेश मंत्रालय ने एक बयान में कहा, ”शिखर सम्मेलन के दौरान प्रधानमंत्री एक चिरस्थायी ग्रह की शांति, स्थिरता और समृद्धि जैसे विषयों पर अपने विचार प्रकट करेंगे। इसके अलावा वह खाद्य, उर्वरक और ऊर्जा सुरक्षा, स्वास्थ्य, लैंगिक समानता, जलवायु परिवर्तन और पर्यावरण, लचीला बुनियादी ढांचा और विकास सहयोग पर चर्चा करेंगे। विदेश मंत्रालय के अनुसार, मोदी किशिदा के साथ द्विपक्षीय बैठक भी करेंगे।
वह शिखर सम्मेलन से इतर इसमें भाग लेने वाले कुछ अन्य नेताओं के साथ द्विपक्षीय बैठकें भी करेंगे। पापुआ न्यू गिनी में भी, मोदी के द्विपक्षीय कार्यक्रम होंगे जिनमें गवर्नर-जनरल सर बॉब डाडे और प्रधानमंत्री जेम्स मारापे के साथ बैठकें शामिल हैं। विदेश मंत्रालय ने कहा कि क्वाड शिखर सम्मेलन नेताओं को हिंद-प्रशांत क्षेत्र में घटनाक्रमों के बारे में विचारों का आदान-प्रदान करने और मुक्त, खुले एवं समावेशी हिंद-प्रशांत के लिए अपनी दृष्टि को आगे बढ़ाने का अवसर प्रदान करेगा। ऑस्ट्रेलिया की अपनी यात्रा के दौरान मोदी 24 मई को अल्बनीस के साथ द्विपक्षीय बैठक करेंगे। प्रधानमंत्री मोदी 23 मई को सिडनी में एक सामुदायिक कार्यक्रम में ऑस्ट्रेलियाई कंपनियों के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारियों और व्यापार जगत के नेताओं के साथ बातचीत करेंगे तथा भारतीय समुदाय के लोगों को संबोधित भी करेंगे।
