भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) ने नेहरू स्मारक संग्रहालय एवं पुस्तकालय का नाम बदले जाने की आलोचना करने के लिए शुक्रवार को कांग्रेस पर पलटवार किया और कहा कि विपक्षी पार्टी देश के प्रधानमंत्री के रूप में सेवा देने वाले अपने नेताओं का भी अपमान करने से नहीं हिचकती। कांग्रेस ने यहां संग्रहालय का नाम बदलकर प्रधानमंत्री संग्रहालय एवं पुस्तकालय सोसायटी करने को लेकर सरकार पर निशाना साधा था और इसे ‘संकीर्ण सोच’ करार दिया था और कहा था कि इमारतों का नाम बदलने से विरासत नहीं मिटा करती है।
इसके जवाब में भाजपा के राष्ट्रीय प्रवक्ता और राज्यसभा सदस्य सुधांशु त्रिवेदी ने कहा कि कांग्रेस आरोप लगा रही है, जबकि उसके नेताओं ने अभी तक यह देखने के लिए संग्रहालय का दौरा नहीं किया है कि कैसे प्रौद्योगिकी के उपयोग के साथ प्रथम प्रधानमंत्री जवाहरलाल नेहरू और उनके उत्तराधिकारियों के योगदान और उपलब्धियों को बेहतर तरीके से प्रदर्शित किया गया है। उन्होंने कहा कि संग्रहालय में लाल बहादुर शास्त्री, इंदिरा गांधी, पी वी नरसिंह राव, राजीव गांधी और कांग्रेस के मनमोहन सिंह सहित सभी पूर्व प्रधानमंत्रियों के योगदान और उपलब्धियों को प्रदर्शित किया गया है। उन्होंने कहा, मैं जानबूझकर उनके अपने प्रधानमंत्रियों का नाम ले रहा हूं। मैं समझ सकता हूं कि नरसिंह राव के साथ उनकी कुछ कड़वाहट थी… लेकिन, मैं जानना चाहता हूं कि इंदिरा गांधी, राजीव गांधी, लाल बहादुर शास्त्री और मनमोहन सिंह की उपलब्धियों से उन्हें क्या समस्या है, जिनके प्रधानमंत्री के रूप में कार्यकाल को संगठित तरीके से प्रदर्शित किया गया है।
उन्होंने कहा, प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी के विरोध में वे अपने ही नेताओं का अपमान करने से भी नहीं हिचकते। वे अपनी नजरों में मोदी के विरोध के मोदियाबिंद के कारण अपने ही नेताओं और अन्य लोगों के बीच अंतर नहीं कर पा रहे हैं। त्रिवेदी ने कांग्रेस को याद दिलाया कि कैसे प्रधानमंत्री मोदी के नेतृत्व वाली सरकार ने 2014 में केंद्र में राष्ट्रीय जनतांत्रिक गठबंधन (राजग) के सत्ता में आने के बाद नेहरू की 125वीं जयंती मनाई थी। उन्होंने कहा, मैं हैरान हूं और (इस मामले में कांग्रेस की प्रतिक्रिया से) थोड़ा परेशान भी हूं। उन्होंने पूछा, ”नेहरू स्मारक देखने के लिए कांग्रेस के कितने नेता वहां गए हैं।
