राष्ट्रीय राजधानी में मूसलाधार बारिश होने की वजह से प्रगति मैदान सुरंग में पानी भर गया जिसके चलते सुरंग को सोमवार को यातायात के लिए बंद कर दिया गया। अधिकारियों ने यह जानकारी दी। यातायात पुलिस ने अपने आधिकारिक ट्विटर खाते पर यह जानकारी देते हुए कहा, जलभराव के कारण प्रगति मैदान सुरंग से वाहनों की आवाजाही बंद है। यात्रियों को सलाह दी जाती है कि वे इसको ध्यान में रखकर यात्रा करें। दिल्ली में सोमवार सुबह साढ़े आठ बजे तक पिछले 24 घंटे में 107 मिलीमीटर बारिश दर्ज की गई है। सोशल मीडिया पर एक यात्री ने मध्य दिल्ली तक पहुंचने के मार्ग के बारे में जानकारी चाही तथा पुलिस से वैकल्पिक मार्ग के बारे में जानकारी देने को कहा। उसने कहा कि हर मार्ग की यही स्थिति है।
एक अन्य यात्री ने कहा कि सुरंग बंद होने के कारण उसे सराय काले खां जाना पड़ा, फिर भैरों मार्ग से इंडिया गेट सर्कल पर वापस आना पड़ा और फिर निज़ामुद्दीन से यू-टर्न लेना पड़ा। व्यस्त आईटीओ चौराहे सहित शहर के अन्य हिस्सों में भी यातायात प्रभावित हुआ।एक अन्य ट्वीट में यातायात पुलिस ने कहा, गाजीपुर अंडरपास के पास जलभराव के कारण आनंद विहार से शमशान घाट, गाज़ीपुर की ओर जाने वाले मार्ग पर यातायात प्रभावित है। कृपया इस रास्ते पर जाने से बचें। दिल्ली में 1982 के बाद एक दिन में सवार्धिक 153 मिमी बारिश रविवार को हुई है।
