नई दिल्ली। देश में बिजली की खपत चालू वित्त वर्ष के पहले नौ माह (अप्रैल-दिसंबर) में लगभग आठ प्रतिशत बढ़कर 1,221.15 अरब यूनिट (बीयू) हो गई है। यह आर्थिक गतिविधियों में तेजी का संकेत है। अप्रैल-दिसंबर, 2022-23 में देश में बिजली की मांग 1,132.11 अरब यूनिट रही थी। उद्योग विशेषज्ञों ने कहा कि चालू वित्त वर्ष के पहले नौ माह में बिजली की खपत में आठ प्रतिशत की बढ़ोतरी आर्थिक गतिविधियों में बढ़ोतरी का संकेत है। पूरे वित्त वर्ष 2022-23 में बिजली की खपत 1,504.26 अरब यूनिट थी, जो कि 2021-22 में 1,374.02 अरब यूनिट थी।
बिजली मंत्रालय ने अनुमान लगाया था कि 2023 में गर्मियों के दौरान देश की बिजली की मांग 229 गीगावाट तक पहुंच जाएगी। बेमौसम बारिश के कारण अप्रैल-जुलाई में मांग अनुमानित स्तर तक नहीं पहुंच पाई। हालांकि, जुलाई, 2023 में 209.03 गीगावाट तक गिरने से पहले जून में अधिकतम मांग 224.1 गीगावाट की नई ऊंचाई को छू गई। अगस्त में अधिकतम मांग 238.82 गीगावाट पर पहुंच गई। इस वित्त वर्ष में सितंबर में यह 243.27 गीगावाट के रिकॉर्ड उच्चस्तर पर थी। अक्टूबर में अधिकतम मांग 222.16 गीगावाट, नवंबर में 204.77 गीगावाट और दिसंबर, 2023 में 213.62 गीगावाट थी। विशेषज्ञों के मुताबिक, इस साल बारिश अधिक होने के कारण मार्च, अप्रैल, मई और जून में बिजली की खपत प्रभावित हुई थी। इसी महीने एक सम्मेलन में केंद्रीय बिजली मंत्री आर के सिंह ने कहा था कि देश में 2030 तक अधिकतम बिजली की मांग 400 गीगावाट पर पहुंच जाएगी।
