लखनऊ। भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) के वरिष्ठ नेता और वर्ष 2014 में रायबरेली लोकसभा सीट से पूर्व कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी के विरुद्ध चुनाव लड़ चुके अधिवक्ता अजय अग्रवाल ने शुक्रवार को कहा कि आगामी लोकसभा चुनाव में अपनी सुनिश्चित हार को देखते हुए सोनिया ने राज्यसभा का रुख किया है। अग्रवाल ने कहा कि अगर भाजपा उन्हें रायबरेली से लोकसभा का टिकट देगी तो वह चुनाव जरूर लड़ेंगे। अग्रवाल ने यहां जारी एक बयान में कहा कि रायबरेली से पांच बार सांसद रहीं सोनिया गांधी ने रायबरेली के चुनावी माहौल को भांपते हुए राजस्थान से राज्यसभा में जाने का निर्णय लिया है। उन्होंने कहा कि अगर इस बार वह रायबरेली से चुनाव लड़तीं, तो उनकी बेहद शर्मनाक पराजय होती।
उन्होंने कहा कि रायबरेली ने पहले सोनिया के ससुर फिरोज गांधी, फिर उनकी सास इंदिरा गांधी और फिर खुद उन्हें पांच बार सांसद बनाया मगर रायबरेली आज भी पिछड़ा ही है। अग्रवाल ने आरोप लगाया कि रायबरेली के विकास के लिए सोनिया ने कुछ नहीं किया और पिछले पांच साल में एक बार भी रायबरेली का रुख नहीं किया। उन्होंने दावा किया कि भाजपा इस बार रायबरेली समेत उत्तर प्रदेश की सभी 80 लोकसभा सीट पर जीत हासिल करेगी। वर्ष 2014 में रायबरेली से सोनिया के खिलाफ भाजपा के टिकट पर लोकसभा चुनाव लड़ चुके अग्रवाल ने कहा कि वह पिछले कई साल से रायबरेली की जनता की सेवा कर रहे हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि अगर पार्टी उनको दोबारा रायबरेली से मौका देगी तो वह चुनाव जरूर लड़ेंगे।
