ब्रिटिश उच्चायुक्त एलेक्स एलिस और दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने शिक्षा और स्वास्थ्य के क्षेत्र में एक ज्ञान साझेदारी समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर करने की संभावना पर बुधवार को चर्चा की। एक आधिकारिक बयान में यह जानकारी दी गई। बयान के अनुसार, एलिस ने सड़क बुनियादी ढांचा और इसके टिकाऊपन पर केजरीवाल के साथ विस्तृत चर्चा की। इस अवसर पर ब्रिटिश काउंसिल इंडिया की निदेशक बारबरा विकहम भी एलिस के साथ थीं। बयान में कहा गया है कि हरित भवन, सौर ऊर्जा नीति, कचरा प्रबंधन, सड़क डिजाइनिंग और इलेक्ट्रिक बसें उन विषयों में शामिल थे जिन पर सहयोग के लिए केजरीवाल ने एलिस के साथ चर्चा की।
केजरीवाल ने ब्रिटिश प्रतिनिधिमंडल से कहा कि दिल्ली सरकार अपने वार्षिक बजट का 25 प्रतिशत शिक्षा पर खर्च कर रही है और इस क्षेत्र में पिछले सात वर्षों में 85,000 करोड़ रुपये निवेश किये जा चुके हैं। उन्होंने लंदन के स्वास्थ्य देखभाल ‘मॉडल’ और मोहल्ला क्लिनिक को समान बताते हुए कहा कि ये क्लिनिक हर इलाके में खोले गये हैं जहां कोई व्यक्ति दिन में कभी भी जा सकता है। केजरीवाल ने कहा, दिल्ली वासियों को ई-हेल्थ कार्ड दिया जाएगा।चिकित्सक इस कार्ड के जरिये मरीज का पूरा मेडिकल इतिहास प्राप्त कर सकेंगे। उन्होंने कहा, हम दिल्ली में जल की उपलब्धता बढ़ाने के लिए कई पहल पर काम कर रहे हैं। यमुना की सफाई हमारी प्राथमिकता है।
