नोएडा पुलिस ने छह लोगों की गिरफ्तारी के साथ शनिवार को हाई-प्रोफाइल इंडियन प्रीमियर लीग (आईपीएल) क्रिकेट मैच और हाल में संपन्न उत्तर प्रदेश विधानसभा चुनावों पर सट्टेबाजी में शामिल एक गिरोह का भंडाफोड़ करने का दावा किया। अतिरिक्त पुलिस उपायुक्त (नोएडा) रणविजय सिंह ने कहा कि यह गिरोह यहां सेक्टर 10 में एक कार्यालय से काम कर रहा था और दुबई में आईपीएल खेलों में सट्टेबाजी के लिए अपने गुर्गों के संपर्क में था। अधिकारी ने कहा कि गिरोह ने आईपीएल खेलों पर रन-वार और खिलाड़ी-वार दांव लगाने की बात स्वीकार की, इसके अलावा गिरोह ने 2022 के विधानसभा चुनावों में उत्तर प्रदेश का मुख्यमंत्री कौन बनेगा, इस पर भी दांव लगाया। खेल में सट्टेबाजी और सभी प्रकार के जुए देश में अवैध हैं।
सिंह ने संवाददाताओं से कहा, ”फेज एक पुलिस टीम और एसीपी नोएडा (2) रजनीश वर्मा ने शुक्रवार रात को एक सूचना के आधार पर रैकेट का भंडाफोड़ किया है। आईपीएल मैच के दौरान सट्टा लगा रहे इमरान, अखिलेश, जावेद, मोहसिन, प्रवेश तथा ताहिर को गिरफ्तार किया गया है। गिरफ्तार सभी आरोपी बुलंदशहर जिले के मूल निवासी हैं। दो आरोपियों इमरान और अखिलेश पालीवाल को उनके गिरोह में ‘सट्टेबाजी का बादशाह’ कहा जाता था। उन्होंने कहा कि गिरोह में अन्य लोग भी शामिल हैं जिन्हें गिरफ्तार किए जाने का प्रयास किया जा रहा है। गिरोह के तौर-तरीकों पर अधिकारी ने कहा कि गिरोह ने दुबई में अपने सूत्रों से संपर्क किया, जो उन्हें मोबाइल फोन पर कुछ ऑनलाइन लिंक भेजता था, जिसके माध्यम से आईपीएल मैचों के दौरान दांव लगाया जाता था।
उन्होंने कहा कि उत्तर प्रदेश विधानसभा चुनाव के दौरान गिरोह ने राजनीतिक दलों के भाग्य और चुनाव के बाद राज्य का मुख्यमंत्री कौन बनेगा, इस पर दांव लगाया था। पुलिस ने कहा कि उन्होंने गिरोह से 1.60 लाख रुपये से अधिक नकद जब्त किया है, जबकि इससे जुड़े तीन बैंक खातों में लगभग छह लाख रुपये जब्त कर लिए गए हैं। पुलिस ने गिरोह के कब्जे से सट्टेबाजी में इस्तेमाल होने वाला एक लैपटॉप, 12 मोबाइल फोन, सट्टे की प्रविष्टियों के साथ एक रजिस्टर, 20 लेखा पुस्तिकाएं और सदस्यों से संबंधित दो वाहन जब्त किए हैं।
पुलिस के अनुसार, आईपीएल सीजन के दौरान गिरोह का सट्टेबाजी कारोबार लगभग 10 लाख रुपये प्रतिदिन था और व्यक्तिगत दांव न्यूनतम 5,000 रुपये और अधिकतम 50,000 रुपये के दायरे में थे। पुलिस ने कहा कि औसतन 50 से 60 दांव वे प्रतिदिन स्वीकार करते थे और दांव लगाने वालों को ”पंटर” के रूप में जाना जाता था। पुलिस ने कहा कि गिरोह के सदस्य अक्सर नोएडा से दिल्ली या गाजियाबाद या बुलंदशहर में अपना ठिकाना बदल लेते थे। पुलिस ने बताया कि मामले में फेज एक पुलिस थाना में प्राथमिकी दर्ज की गई है और आगे की कानूनी कार्रवाई की जा रही है।
