त्रिपुरा विधानसभा के आगामी चुनाव के लिए भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) ने शनिवार को 48 उम्मीदवारों की पहली सूची जारी की। इस सूची के अनुसार केंद्रीय मंत्री प्रतिमा भौमिक को धनपुर सीट से मैदान में उतारा गया है। वहीं, त्रिपुरा के मुख्यमंत्री माणिक साहा को टाउन बोरदोवाली से भाजपा प्रत्याशी बनाया गया है। भाजपा नेताओं अनिल बलूनी और संबित पात्रा ने शनिवार को पार्टी मुख्यालय में आयोजिक एक संवाददाता सम्मेलन में त्रिपुरा विधानसभा चुनाव के लिए भाजपा के उम्मीदवारों की घोषणा की। भौमिक केंद्र में भाजपा के नेतृत्व वाली सरकार में केंद्रीय मंत्री हैं।
वह त्रिपुरा से सांसद हैं। 2018 के पिछले विधानसभा चुनाव में वामपंथ के गढ़ माने जाने वाले त्रिपुरा में भाजपा ने सरकार बनाई थी। उससे पहले मार्क्सवादी कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी (माकपा) ने त्रिपुरा में 25 साल तक शासन किया था। भाजपा का शीर्ष नेतृत्व कांग्रेस के पूर्व नेता और त्रिपुरा के पूर्व शाही परिवार के वंशज प्रद्योत देब बर्मन के नेतृत्व वाली पार्टी तिपरा मोथा के साथ चुनाव पूर्व गठबंधन के लिए बातचीत कर रहे थे, लेकिन अब ऐसे किसी गठबंधन को खारिज कर दिया गया है। वहीं, माकपा इस बार राज्य का चुनाव कांग्रेस के साथ गठबंधन में लड़ रही है।
