दिल्ली पुलिस ने यूपी के मथुरा जिले में कथित तौर पर फर्जी कॉल सेंटर का संचालन कर अमेरिका, कनाडा और फिलीपीन जैसे देशों के नागरिकों को सस्ते ऋण का लालच देकर उनके साथ ‘धोखाधड़ी’ करने वाले तीन लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया गया। प्रवर्तन निदेशालय (ईडी) ने यह जानकारी दी। जांच एजेंसी ने कहा कि उसने कथित ‘मास्टरमाइंड’ शाहनवाज अहमद जिलान उर्फ डेविड मॉरिसन और उसके दो ‘करीबी सहयोगियों’ विपिन कुमार शर्मा व विराज कुंतल को गिरफ्तार किया है।
बयान के मुताबिक, विशेष धन शोधन निवारण अधिनियम (पीएमएलए) अदालत ने तीनों आरोपियों को पांच जुलाई तक ईडी की हिरासत में भेज दिया है। ईडी ने बताया कि इन कॉल सेंटर में काम करने वाले कुछ लोगों ने जयपुर में भी इसी तरह के फर्जी सेटअप में काम किया था, जिसके खिलाफ राजस्थान पुलिस ने भी पहले कुछ आपराधिक मामले दर्ज किए थे।
