कांग्रेस ने बुधवार को कहा कि 23 जून को पटना में होने वाली विपक्षी दलों की बैठक में उसके अध्यक्ष मल्लिकार्जुन खरगे और पूर्व अध्यक्ष राहुल गांधी भाग लेंगे। पार्टी के संगठन महासचिव केसी वेणुगोपाल ने यह भी कहा कि विपक्षी दल लोकतंत्र की रक्षा करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध हैं और एकजुट होकर विभाजनकारी ताकतों को पराजित करेंगे। उन्होंने ट्वीट किया, 23 जून को पटना में होने वाली विपक्षी नेताओं की संयुक्त बैठक में कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष मल्लिकार्जुन खरगे जी और राहुल गांधी जी भाग लेंगे।
हमारा मानना है कि लोकतंत्र की रक्षा करने के मकसद के प्रति हमारी एकजुटता और प्रतिबद्धता आज समय की जरूरत है। हम सत्ता में बैठी विभाजनकारी ताकतों को पराजित करने में सफल होंगे। इससे पहले जनता दल (यूनाइटेड) के अध्यक्ष ललन सिंह और बिहार के उपमुख्यमंत्री तेजस्वी यादव ने पटना में ऐलान किया कि विपक्षी नेताओं की बैठक 23 जून को होगी। पहले यह बैठक 12 जून को पटना में ही होनी थी, लेकिन राहुल गांधी और कुछ अन्य नेताओं की अनुपलब्धता के कारण इसे टाल दिया गया था।
