दिल्ली पुलिस ने कांग्रेस को राहुल गांधी को लोकसभा से अयोग्य ठहराए जाने के खिलाफ राजघाट पर ‘सत्याग्रह’ करने की अनुमति नहीं दी। अधिकारियों ने रविवार को यह जानकारी दी। दिल्ली पुलिस ने एक पत्र में कहा कि कानून-व्यवस्था एवं यातायात संबंधी कारणों से इस अनुरोध को खारिज किया गया और राजघाट में एवं इसके आसपास दंड प्रक्रिया संहिता (सीआरपीसी) की धारा 144 के तहत निषेधाज्ञा लागू की गई है। पुलिस के एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने ‘पीटीआई-भाषा’ को बताया कि सत्याग्रह की अनुमति नहीं दी गई है और सुरक्षा के पर्याप्त इंतजाम किए गए हैं।
इससे पहले, कांग्रेस ने पार्टी के पूर्व अध्यक्ष राहुल गांधी को लोकसभा की सदस्यता से अयोग्य ठहराए जाने के विरोध में रविवार को सभी राज्यों और जिला मुख्यालयों में महात्मा गांधी की प्रतिमाओं के सामने एकदिवसीय सत्याग्रह करने की घोषणा की थी। केरल की वायनाड सीट से लोकसभा सदस्य राहुल गांधी को सूरत की एक अदालत द्वारा 2019 के मानहानि के एक मामले में दो साल जेल की सजा सुनाये जाने के मद्देनजर शुक्रवार को लोकसभा की सदस्यता से अयोग्य ठहरा दिया गया। लोकसभा सचिवालय की ओर से जारी अधिसूचना में कहा गया है कि उनका अयोग्यता संबंधी आदेश 23 मार्च से प्रभावी होगा। उल्लेखनीय है कि सूरत की एक अदालत ने यह फैसला ”मोदी उपनाम” संबंधी टिप्पणी को लेकर दिया था।
