दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने बुधवार को भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) पर आरोप लगाया कि 15 वर्षों तक नगर निगम पर शासन करने वाली भाजपा ने कचरे के तीन पहाड़ बनाने और राजधानी को कूड़े से भरने के अलावा कुछ नहीं किया। केजरीवाल ने ट्वीट कर कहा कि बृहस्पतिवार को वह गाजीपुर लैंडफिल (कचरे का ढेर) स्थल का दौरा करेंगे। उन्होंने लोगों से उनका साथ देने का आग्रह किया।
केजरीवाल ने ट्वीट किया, भाजपा के एक नेता से मैंने पूछा-15 साल में नगर निगम में आपने क्या काम किया? शर्माते हुए उसने दो काम बताये- 1. कूड़े के तीन बड़े-बड़े पहाड़ बनाए। 2. पूरी दिल्ली को कूड़ा-कूड़ा कर दिया। कल सुबह इनका गाजीपुर वाला कूड़े का पहाड़ देखने जाऊंगा। आप भी आइएगा। इससे पहले दिन में केजरीवाल ने एक संवाददाता सम्मेलन में दावा किया कि राजधानी के लोग आगामी दिल्ली नगर निगम (एमसीडी) चुनावों में भाजपा को खारिज कर देंगे और आम आदमी पार्टी (आप) को राष्ट्रीय राजधानी को साफ करने का मौका देंगे। उन्होंने भाजपा को चुनौती दी कि वह नगर निगमों में अपने 15 साल के शासन के दौरान किए गए एक अच्छे काम को दिखाए। इस साल के अंत में अथवा अगले वर्ष के शुरू में एमसीडी चुनाव होने की संभावना है। हालांकि, इस संबंध में कोई आधिकारिक घोषणा नहीं की गयी है। केंद्र सरकार ने दिल्ली के तीनों नगर निगमों का एकीकरण कर दिया है।
