दिल्ली उच्च न्यायालय ने शुक्रवार को सार्वजनिक नियुक्ति में ट्रांसजेंडर व्यक्तियों के रोजगार और उनके लिए आरक्षण के अनुरोध संबंधी एक याचिका पर केंद्र से जवाब मांगा। न्यायमूर्ति प्रतिभा एम. सिंह ने केंद्र सरकार को एक ट्रांसजेंडर व्यक्ति की याचिका में पक्षकार बनाया है। याचिका में ट्रांसजेंडर व्यक्ति (अधिकारों का संरक्षण) अधिनियम, 2019 के प्रावधानों के प्रभावी कार्यान्वयन का अनुरोध किया गया है। न्यायमूर्ति सिंह ने कहा, इस मुद्दे को ध्यान में रखते हुए, भारत संघ को पक्षकार बनाना उचित समझा जाता है … नोटिस जारी किया जाता है।
दिल्ली अधीनस्थ सेवा चयन बोर्ड द्वारा एक रिक्ति का विज्ञापन दिया गया था जिसमें पोर्टल पर आवेदक की पहचान के लिए ‘ट्रांसजेंडर’ का विकल्प नहीं होने के कारण याचिकाकर्ता आवेदन नहीं कर पाया था। इसके बाद पिछले साल यह याचिका दायर की गई थी। दिल्ली सरकार के वकील ने कहा कि तब से पोर्टल को अद्यतन (अपडेट) करने के लिए कदम उठाए गए हैं और अब उसमें पुरुष, महिला और ट्रांसजेंडर के विकल्प मौजूद हैं। याचिकाकर्ता ने कहा कि पोर्टल को अभी भी ठीक तरह से अपडेट नहीं किया गया है। मामले की अगली सुनवाई मार्च में होगी।
