दिल्ली पुलिस ने भारतीय कुश्ती महासंघ (डब्ल्यूएफआई) के निर्वतमान प्रमुख बृजभूषण शरण सिंह के खिलाफ यौन उत्पीड़न तथा पीछा करने के अपराधों के लिए आरोपपत्र दाखिल किया और एक नाबालिग पहलवान द्वारा उनके खिलाफ दर्ज कराई गई शिकायत को रद्द करने की भी सिफारिश की। दिल्ली पुलिस की जनसंपर्क अधिकारी (पीआरओ) सुमन नालवा ने एक बयान में कहा, पॉक्सो (यौन अपराधों से बच्चों का संरक्षण) मामले में जांच पूरी होने के बाद हमने शिकायतकर्ता यानी पीड़िता के पिता तथा खुद पीड़िता के बयानों के आधार पर मामले को रद्द करने का अनुरोध करते हुए दंड प्रक्रिया संहिता (सीआरपीसी) की धारा 173 के तहत पुलिस की एक रिपोर्ट दाखिल की है।
सिंह ने बताया कि अन्य पहलवानों द्वारा दर्ज कराई शिकायत पर आधारित दूसरे मामले में भारतीय दंड संहिता (आईपीसी) की धारा 354 (महिला की लज्जा भंग करने के इरादे से उस पर हमला या आपराधिक बल का इस्तेमाल करना), 354ए (यौन उत्पीड़न) और 354डी (पीछा करना) के तहत आरोपपत्र दाखिल किया गया है। उन्होंने बताया कि भारतीय कुश्ती महासंघ के एक निलंबित सहायक सचिव विनोद तोमर के खिलाफ भी भारतीय दंड संहिता की धारा 109 (यदि कोई किसी को अपराध के लिए उकसाता है, यदि दुष्प्रेरित कार्य उकसाने के परिणामस्वरूप किया जाता है और जहां उसके दण्ड के लिए कोई स्पष्ट प्रावधान न हो), 354, 354ए और 506 (आपराधिक भयादोहन) के तहत आरोपपत्र दाखिल किया गया है।
