नई दिल्ली। कांग्रेस के वरिष्ठ नेता और मध्य प्रदेश के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री कमलनाथ ने सोमवार को कहा कि पार्टी अध्यक्ष पद में उनकी कोई रुचि नहीं है। उन्होंने यह टिप्पणी उस वक्त की है जब राजस्थान के घटनाक्रम के बाद मीडिया के एक हिस्से में ऐसी खबरें आई थीं कि कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष पद के चुनाव के संभावित उम्मीदवारों में कमलनाथ भी शामिल हो सकते हैं। कमलनाथ ने सोमवार को कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी से मुलाकात की।
सूत्रों का कहना है कि यह मुलाकात राजस्थान के राजनीतिक संकट के संदर्भ में थी और इस संकट को सुलझाने में कमलनाथ भूमिका निभा सकते हैं। मध्य प्रदेश कांग्रेस कमेटी के अध्यक्ष कमलनाथ ने संवाददाताओं के एक सवाल के जवाब में कहा, मेरी अध्यक्ष पद में कोई रुचि नहीं है। मैं सिर्फ (सोनिया गांधी को) नवरात्रि की शुभकामनाएं देने के लिए आया हूं।
