राज्यसभा सदस्य एवं वरिष्ठ अधिवक्ता कपिल सिब्बल ने सोमवार को कहा कि प्रवर्तन निदेशालय (ईडी) की शक्तियों और जांच के दायरे का समर्थन वाले उच्चतम न्यायालय के एक ‘स्पष्ट रूप से त्रुटिपूर्ण’ फैसले से इसका दुरुपयोग निर्वाचित सरकारों को गिराने और भारत के संघीय ढांचे को ‘नष्ट’ करने के लिए किया जाएगा। सिब्बल की यह टिप्पणी ईडी द्वारा मुंबई की एक चॉल के पुनर्विकास में कथित अनियमितताओं से जुड़े धन शोधन मामले में शिवसेना सांसद संजय राउत की गिरफ्तारी के कुछ घंटे बाद आई है।

उन्होंने ट्वीट किया, धन शोधन निवारण अधिनियम (पीएमएलए)…उच्चतम न्यायालय के एक ‘स्पष्ट रूप से त्रुटिपूर्ण’ फैसले द्वारा समर्थित ईडी की शक्तियों और जांच के दायरे का दुरुपयोग निर्वाचित सरकारों को गिराने और भारत के संघीय ढांचे को ‘नष्ट’ करने के लिए किया जाएगा। गौरतलब है कि शीर्ष अदालत ने पिछले बुधवार को पीएमएलए के तहत गिरफ्तारी, धन शोधन में शामिल संपत्ति की कुर्की, तलाशी और जब्ती से संबंधित ईडी की शक्तियों को बरकरार रखा था। कई याचिकाकर्ताओं ने ईडी की इन शक्तियों को चुनौती दी थी।
