मध्य दिल्ली के पहाड़गंज इलाके में एक मकान गिरने से साढ़े तीन साल के एक बच्चे की मौत हो गई जबकि परिवार के तीन अन्य सदस्य घायल हो गए। अधिकारियों ने यह जानकारी दी। अग्निशमन विभाग के अधिकारियों के मुताबिक खन्ना मार्केट के नजदीक इमारत गिरने की सूचना अपराह्न आठ बजकर 40 मिनट पर मिली। उन्होंने बताया कि तत्काल मौके पर दमकल की सात गाड़ियों को भेजा गया। अधिकारियों ने बताया कि अमजद, उसकी बहन जरीना(डेढ़ साल), अलीफा (आठ साल) और उनके पिता मोहम्म्द जहूर (52) को मलबे से निकाला गया।
पुलिस ने बताया कि अमजद को लेडी हार्डिंग अस्पताल में लाया गया जहां डॉक्टरों ने उसे मृत घोषित कर दिया जबकि परिवार के तीन अन्य सदस्यों का इलाज चल रहा है। पुलिस उपायुक्त (मध्य) श्वेता चौहान ने बताया कि पहाड़गंज के मुख्य बाजार में मौजूद चार मंजिला इमारत जर्जर अवस्थ में थी और पहली मंजिल पर केवल एक परिवार रह रहा था जबकि भूतल पर कई दुकानें थीं।
