पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री गुलाम नबी आजाद के नेतृत्व वाली डेमोक्रेटिक आजाद पार्टी (डीएपी) के 17 पूर्व नेता शुक्रवार को कांग्रेस में शामिल हो गए जिनमें जम्मू-कश्मीर के पूर्व उप मुख्यमंत्री ताराचंद भी शामिल हैं। इन नेताओं की यह कांग्रेस में वापसी है। कांग्रेस के संगठन महासचिव केसी वेणुगोपाल ने इन नेताओं का पार्टी में स्वागत किया। वेणुगोपाल ने कहा, भारत जोड़ो यात्रा के जम्मू कश्मीर में दाखिल होने से पहले हमारे कई नेता घर वापस आ रहे हैं। यह बहुत खुशी की बात है।
तारा चंद, प्रदेश कांग्रेस कमेटी के पूर्व अध्यक्ष पीरजादा मोहम्मद और 15 अन्य नेताओं ने कांग्रेस में वापसी की है। कांग्रेस महासचिव जयराम रमेश ने कहा कि आने वाले दिनों में डीएपी के कई और नेता कांग्रेस में वापसी करेंगे। आजाद ने पिछले साल अगस्त में कांग्रेस से इस्तीफा दे दिया था और फिर डीएपी की स्थापना की थी। पार्टी गठित होने कुछ हफ्ते बाद ही इसमें कलह शुरू हो गई। पिछले दिनों तारा चंद और कुछ अन्य नेताओं को डीएपी से निष्कासित कर दिया गया था।
