नई दिल्ली। केंद्र द्वारा स्वच्छता सर्वेक्षण पुरस्कारों की घोषणा के एक दिन बाद दिल्ली की महापौर शैली ओबेरॉय ने शुक्रवार को कहा कि राजधानी का नगर निगम अगले स्वच्छ सर्वेक्षण में अपनी रैंकिंग में सुधार करने का प्रयास करेगा। सिविक सेंटर में एक संवाददाता सम्मेलन को संबोधित करते हुए उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि दिल्ली नगर निगम को स्वच्छ सर्वेक्षण 2023में 10 लाख से अधिक आबादी वाले शहरी स्थानीय निकायों में 28वां स्थान दिया गया है। स्वच्छ सर्वेक्षण 2023 में 1 लाख से अधिक आबादी वाले 446 शहरी स्थानीय निकायों में एमसीडी को 90वां स्थान दिया गया है।
महापौर ने निवासियों को बधाई देते हुए कहा वर्ष 2022 में एमसीडी के एकीकरण के बाद, दिल्ली में सफाई की स्थिति में सुधार हुआ है। दिल्ली में सफाई व्यवस्था की निगरानी के लिए हमारे कार्यकर्ताओं और अधिकारियों ने दिल्ली के कोने-कोने का दौरा किया। यह उनकी वजह से है कि हम यह सुधार हासिल कर पाए हैं। तीन नागरिक निकायों को 2022 में फिर से एक इकाई में एकीकृत किए जाने के बाद यह पहली बार है जब एमसीडी ने केंद्र सरकार के वार्षिक स्वच्छता सर्वेक्षण में भाग लिया है। स्वच्छता सर्वेक्षण 2022 में 10 लाख से अधिक आबादी वाले शहरों की श्रेणी में एनडीएमसी को 37वां, ईडीएमसी को 34वां और एसडीएमसी को 28वां स्थान मिला था।
