दिल्ली में बृहस्पतिवार सुबह मानसून की पहली बारिश होने से लोगों को भीषण गर्मी से राहत मिली वहीं जल्दी ही कई जगहों पर जाम और पानी भरने से दिल्लीवासियों को परेशानी का सामना भी करना पड़ा। दिल्ली यातायत पुलिस ने ट्वीट कर लोगों से ऐसे रास्तों से बचने की अपील की। यातायात पुलिस ने ट्वीट किया, आईएमडी (भारत मौसम विज्ञान विभाग) की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, आज दिल्ली तथा उसके आसपास के क्षेत्रों में हल्की से मध्यम बारिश होने की संभावना है और तेज हवाएं भी चल सकती हैं। लोगों से अपील है कि वे इसके अनुसार अपनी यात्रा की योजना बनाएं।
भारी बारिश के कारण दिल्ली के कई हिस्सों जैसे आईटीओ, बारापुला, रिंग रोड और राष्ट्रीय राजधानी की सीमाओं, विशेष रूप से दिल्ली-नोएडा सीमा, चिल्ला बॉर्डर, यूपी गेट, दिल्ली-गुरुग्राम सड़क पर भारी जाम लग गया। प्रगति मैदान के पास, विनोद नगर के पास दिल्ली-मेरठ एक्सप्रेसवे, पुल प्रहलादपुर अंडरपास, डब्ल्यूएचओ इमारत के सामने आईपी एस्टेट, जखीरा फ्लाईओवर के नीचे, जहांगीरपुरी मेट्रो स्टेशन, लोनी रोड गोल चक्कर और आजादपुर मार्केट अंडरपास के पास पानी भरने की सूचना मिली है। दिल्ली के उप मुख्यमंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया ने इस महीने की शुरुआत में कहा था कि दिल्ली सरकार जलभराव की समस्या से निपटने के लिए तैयार है।
