नई दिल्ली। राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू ने सोमवार को सैन्य कर्मियों को 76वें सेना दिवस की बधाई दी और कहा कि उनकी देशभक्ति सभी नागरिकों के लिए प्रेरणा का एक बड़ा स्रोत बनी हुई है। मुर्मू ने सोशल मीडिया मंच ‘एक्स’ पर एक पोस्ट में कहा, संघर्ष के साथ-साथ शांति की स्थितियों में भी हमारे बहादुर सैनिक हरसंभव तरीके से देश की सेवा करने के लिए तैयार रहते हैं। आज, कृतज्ञ राष्ट्र मातृभूमि के लिए अपने प्राणों की आहूति देने वालों को और भारतीय सेना के जज्बे को सलाम करता है। मैं सेना के सभी सदस्यों को शुभकामनाएं देती हूं।
साल 1949 में आज ही के दिन भारत के अंतिम ब्रिटिश कमांडर-इन-चीफ जनरल फ्रांसिस बुचर के स्थान पर तत्कालीन लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल के एम करियप्पा भारतीय सेना के कमांडर इन चीफ बने थे इसीलिए हर साल 15 जनवरी को सेना दिवस मनाया जाता है। करियप्पा बाद में फील्ड मार्शल बने थे। राष्ट्रपति ने कहा, सेना दिवस पर सैन्य कर्मियों, भूतपूर्व सैनिकों और उनके परिवारों को शुभकामनाएं। भारतीय सेना में अनुकरणीय बहादुरी, पूरे समर्पण के साथ देश की सीमाओं के रक्षा करने की लंबी परंपरा है। उनकी देशभक्ति सभी नागरिकों के लिए प्रेरणा का एक बड़ा स्रोत बनी हुई है।
