प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने सोमवार को कहा कि भारत को अगर सफलता के शिखर पर ले जाना है तो उसे अतीत के संकुचित नजरिये से भी आजाद होना होगा। राजधानी स्थित मेजर ध्यानचंद नेशनल स्टेडियम में सिख गुरु, गुरु गोविंद सिंह के साहिबजादों की शहादत की याद में पहले ”वीर बाल दिवस” के अवसर पर आयोजित एक समारोह को संबोधित करते हुए प्रधानमंत्री ने यह बात कही। साहिबजादों के बलिदान को याद करते हुए प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि उनके त्याग और उनकी इतनी बड़ी शौर्यगाथा को इतिहास में भुला दिया गया। उन्होंने कहा कि लेकिन अब नया भारत दशकों पहले हुई एक पुरानी भूल को सुधार रहा है।
उन्होंने कहा, ”दुर्भाग्य से हमें इतिहास के नाम पर वह गढ़े हुए विमर्श बताएं और पढ़ाए जाते रहे, जिनसे हमारे भीतर हीन भावना पैदा हो। बावजूद इसके हमारे समाज और हमारी परंपराओं ने इन गौरव गाथाओं को जीवंत रखा। उन्होंने कहा, अगर हमें भारत को भविष्य में सफलता के शिखर पर ले जाना है तो हमें अतीत के संकुचित नजरियों से भी आजाद होना पड़ेगा। इसलिए, आजादी के अमृतकाल में देश ने गुलामी की मानसिकता से मुक्ति का प्राण फूंका है। प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि युवा अपने साहस से समय की धारा को हमेशा के लिए मोड़ देता है और इसी संकल्प शक्ति के साथ आज भारत की युवा पीढ़ी भी देश को नई ऊंचाई पर ले जाने के लिए निकल पड़ी है।
मोदी ने कहा कि सिख गुरु परंपरा केवल आस्था और आध्यात्मिक परंपरा नहीं है, बल्कि ”एक भारत, श्रेष्ठ भारत” के विचार का भी प्रेरणापुंज है। इससे पहले, प्रधानमंत्री ने लगभग 300 बच्चों द्वारा किए गए शबद कीर्तन में भाग लिया। केंद्र सरकार ने इसी वर्ष नौ जनवरी को गुरु गोबिंद सिंह के प्रकाश पर्व के दिन गुरु गोबिंद सिंह के बेटों साहिबजादा बाबा जोरावर सिंह और बाबा फतेह सिंह की शहादत की याद में 26 दिसंबर को ”वीर बाल दिवस” के रूप में मनाए जाने की घोषणा की थी।
