दिल्ली के वेलकम इलाके में एक पार्क में खेल रहे बच्चों के बीच हुए झगड़े के बाद विभिन्न समुदायों के दो समूहों में झड़प हो गई। अधिकारियों ने बृहस्पतिवार को यह जानकारी देते हुए बताया कि इस सिलसिले में 37 लोगों को हिरासत में लिया गया और तीन को गिरफ्तार किया गया है। उन्होंने बताया कि बुधवार को पूर्वाह्न नौ बजकर 50 मिनट पर पुलिस को वेलकम पुलिस थानांतर्गत क्षेत्र में फोटो चौक के पास झगड़े की सूचना मिली। अधिकारियों ने कहा कि पुलिस मौके पर पहुंची तथा अतिरिक्त बल तैनात किया गया।
प्रारंभिक जांच में पता चला कि वेलकम के एक्स और वाई ब्लॉक के पार्क में बच्चों के बीच झगड़ा हुआ था। पुलिस के एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने बताया कि विवाद इतना बढ़ा कि इसने विभिन्न समुदायों के दो समूहों के बीच झड़प का रूप ले लिया। पार्क में और लोगों के एकत्र होने के बाद स्थानीय लोगों ने सांप्रदायिक तनाव के डर से पुलिस को इसकी सूचना दी। पुलिस ने कहा कि स्थिति नियंत्रण में है और सीआरपीसी की धारा 108 के तहत निवारक कार्रवाई शुरू कर दी गई है। उन्होंने कहा कि आरोपियों की पहचान करने के लिए नागरिक भाईचारा समिति के सदस्यों को बुलाया गया है।
