दिल्ली में ट्रैफिक नियम तोड़ने वाले पुलिसकर्मियों पर उनका ही विभाग सख्त हो गया है। ऐसे पुलिसकर्मियों पर शिकंजा कसने की विभाग ने तैयारी शुरू कर दी है। अब अगर दिल्ली पुलिस के जवानों ने ट्रैफिक नियमों का उल्लंघन किया तो उन्हें दोगुना जुर्माना देना होगा। दिल्ली ट्रैफिक पुलिस के एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने आदेश जारी कर ये कहा है। इस ऑर्डर से दिल्ली पुलिस के जवानों में हडकंप मचा हुआ है।
दिल्ली पुलिस के अतिरिक्त पुलिस आयुक्त (ट्रैफिक) अजय कृष्ण शर्मा ने दो मार्च को जारी एक आदेश में कहा है कि अक्सर ये देखा गया है कि कुछ पुलिसकर्मी व अधिकारी या तो सरकारी वाहन चलाते समय या फिर ड्राइवर के बगल में आगे की सीट पर बैठने की दौरान बेल्ट नहीं लगाते हैं। इस मुद्दे को लेकर दिल्ली पुलिसकर्मियों को संवेदनशील होने की जरूरत है। उनको बताना चाहिए की पुलिसकर्मियों द्वारा किए गए ट्रैफिक नियमों के लिए दोहरे दंड का प्रावधान है। आदेश में आगे कहा गया है कि तैनात सभी अधिकारियों को ट्रैफिक नियमों को लेकर संवेदनशील बनाया जाना चाहिए। साथ ही ट्रैफिक नियमों व विनियमों को सख्ती से पालन करने के आदेश दिए जाने चाहिए, ताकि विभाग को जुर्माने व शर्मिंदगी से बचाया जा सके।
आदेश में कहा गया है कि सर्किल ट्रैफिक इंस्पेक्टरों को ये आदेश दिए जाने चाहिए कि दिल्ली नियमों को उल्लंघन करने वाला अधिकारी भले ही किसी भी रैंक का हो। सभी के साथ संबंधित एमवी एक्ट के तहत कार्रवाई की जानी चाहिए। पुलिस अधिकारी कृष्ण कुमार शर्मा ने कहा है कि अगर कोई पुलिस कर्मी या तो वर्दी में या सरकारी वाहन चलाते हुए यातायात मानदंडों का उल्लंघन करते हुए पाया जाता है, तो उस पर कानून के उचित प्रावधानों और एमवी अधिनियम की धारा 210 बी के तहत किए गए प्रावधानों के तहत मुकदमा चलाया जाना चाहिए।
