नई दिल्ली। उच्चतम न्यायालय ने धन शोधन मामले में दिल्ली के पूर्व मंत्री सत्येन्द्र जैन की अंतरिम जमानत की अवधि सोमवार को 11 दिसंबर तक बढ़ा दी। जैन ने दिल्ली उच्च न्यायालय के छह अप्रैल के आदेश को चुनौती देते हुए शीर्ष अदालत में एक याचिका दायर की है। उच्च न्यायालय ने प्रवर्तन निदेशालय (ईडी) द्वारा जांच किए जा रहे मामले में उनकी जमानत याचिका खारिज कर दी थी। शीर्ष अदालत ने 26 मई को जैन को चिकित्सा आधार पर छह सप्ताह के लिए अंतरिम जमानत दी थी। बाद में अदालत ने राहत बढ़ा दी थी। न्यायमूर्ति बेला एम त्रिवेदी और न्यायमूर्ति सतीश चंद्र शर्मा की पीठ ने मामले पर सुनवाई की। जैन की ओर से पेश वकील ने कहा कि न्यायमूर्ति ए एस बोपन्ना और न्यायमूर्ति त्रिवेदी की विशेष पीठ ने पहले इस मामले में दलीलें सुनी थीं।
उन्होंने कहा कि चूंकि पीठ के पीठासीन न्यायाधीश न्यायमूर्ति बोपन्ना सोमवार को उपलब्ध नहीं हैं, इसलिए मामले को किसी अन्य तारीख पर सुनवाई के लिए सूचीबद्ध किया जाए। न्यायमूर्ति त्रिवेदी ने कहा, ”हमें यह देखना होगा कि अंतरिम आदेश जारी रखा जाए या नहीं क्योंकि यह इतने लंबे समय तक नहीं रह सकता। जैन के वकील ने पीठ से मामले को अगले सप्ताह सुनवाई के लिए सूचीबद्ध करने का अनुरोध किया। पीठ ने मामले को 11 दिसंबर तक के लिए स्थगित करते हुए कहा, ”अंतरिम आदेश जारी रहेगा। ईडी ने पूर्व में दावा किया था कि आम आदमी पार्टी (आप) के नेता जैन निचली अदालत में इस आधार पर बार-बार स्थगन की मांग कर रहे कि उनकी जमानत याचिका शीर्ष अदालत में लंबित है। जांच एजेंसी ने आरोप लगाया था कि जैन ने निचली अदालत से 16 तारीखें ली हैं।
शीर्ष अदालत ने 26 मई को जैन को चिकित्सा आधार पर छह सप्ताह के लिए अंतरिम जमानत देते हुए कहा था कि किसी नागरिक को अपने खर्च पर निजी अस्पताल में अपनी पसंद का इलाज कराने का अधिकार है। ईडी ने जैन से कथित तौर पर जुड़ी चार कंपनियों के माध्यम से धन शोधन के आरोप में आप नेता को पिछले साल 30 मई को गिरफ्तार किया था। इसने जैन को भ्रष्टाचार निवारण अधिनियम के तहत 2017 में उनके खिलाफ दर्ज केंद्रीय अन्वेषण ब्यूरो (सीबीआई) की प्राथमिकी के आधार पर गिरफ्तार किया था। जैन ने आरोपों से इनकार किया है। उन्हें छह सितंबर, 2019 को सीबीआई द्वारा दर्ज मामले में निचली अदालत द्वारा नियमित जमानत दी गई थी।
