भाजपा के शीर्ष नेताओं ने भ्रष्टाचार और प्रदूषण के मुद्दों पर आम आदमी पार्टी की आलोचना की और केंद्रीय मंत्री अनुराग ठाकुर ने आरोप लगाया कि अरविंद केजरीवाल सरकार शिक्षा से ज्यादा शराब की दुकानों के विस्तार पर ध्यान केंद्रित कर रही है। दिल्ली नगर निगम (एमसीडी) चुनावों के लिए प्रचार करते हुए ठाकुर ने दावा किया कि केजरीवाल सरकार के ”भ्रष्टाचार और विकास के झूठे दावों” के कारण दिल्ली का नुकसान हो रहा है।
ठाकुर ने यहां शास्त्री नगर, कमला नगर और राजेंद्र नगर वार्ड में भाजपा उम्मीदवारों के लिए प्रचार किया। इस दौरान उन्होंने आरोप लगाया, ”यह देश की पहली सरकार है जिसने शिक्षा से ज्यादा ठेकों (शराब की दुकानों) के विस्तार पर ध्यान दिया है और जेल में बंद मंत्री को अभी तक उनके पद से हटाया नहीं गया है।” कई केंद्रीय मंत्रियों और भाजपा शासित राज्यों के मुख्यमंत्रियों ने भी पार्टी उम्मीदवारों के लिए प्रचार किया और शहर के विभिन्न हिस्सों में रोड शो और जनसभाएं कीं। मयूर विहार में एक सभा को संबोधित करते हुए उत्तराखंड के मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने लोगों को मुफ्त ”बिजली और पानी” की आपूर्ति के मद्देनजर आगाह करते हुए वायु प्रदूषण और यमुना में गंदे पानी का हवाला दिया और दावा किया कि यह आने वाली पीढ़ियों को नुकसान पहुंचाने वाला साबित हो सकता है।
