केंद्रीय नागर विमानन मंत्री ज्योतिरादित्य सिंधिया ने सोमवार को कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी की सरकार के नौ साल के कार्यकाल में भारत ने गरीबों के उत्थान और कल्याण पर ध्यान केंद्रित करते हुए एक आत्मनिर्भर देश के रूप में अपनी छवि बनाई है। सिंधिया ने दिल्ली में भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) के कार्यालय में एक संवाददाता सम्मेलन में कहा कि मोदी सरकार सेवा, सुशासन और गरीबों के उत्थान पर ध्यान केंद्रित कर काम कर रही है। उन्होंने कहा, प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी के नेतृत्व में भारत ने पिछले नौ वर्षों में चौंकाने वाले परिवर्तन किए और आत्मनिर्भर होने की छवि बनाई है।
उन्होंने भाजपा शासित केंद्र की विभिन्न योजनाओं का हवाला देते हुए कहा कि मोदी सरकार ने नौ साल में 12 करोड़ मकानों तक (कनेक्शन के जरिए) पानी पहुंचाया, उज्ज्वला योजना के तहत 9.60 करोड़ रसोई गैस ‘कनेक्शन’ दिए गए, 80 करोड़ लोगों को प्रधानमंत्री गरीब कल्याण के तहत अनाज दिया गया, आयुष्मान भारत स्वास्थ्य बीमा योजना के तहत 50 करोड़ लाभार्थियों को ‘कवर’ किया गया। संवाददाता सम्मेलन में भाजपा की दिल्ली इकाई के अध्यक्ष वीरेंद्र सचदेवा ने कहा कि मोदी सरकार के नौ साल दिल्ली के लिए ”अविश्वसनीय” साबित हुए हैं। केंद्र ने इस दौरान कई बुनियादी ढांचा विकास परियोजनाएं शुरू कीं।
