दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने शुक्रवार को कहा कि उनकी स्कूली शिक्षा का उद्देश्य छात्रों को अच्छा मनुष्य, देशभक्त और रोजगार हासिल करने योग्य बनाना है। ‘हैप्पीनेस’ पाठ्यक्रम के चार साल पूरे होने के अवसर पर आयोजित एक कार्यक्रम में केजरीवाल ने कहा कि जब वह सत्ता में आए थे, तब स्कूलों की स्थिति खराब थी और बोर्ड की परीक्षा के परिणाम भी अच्छे नहीं आते थे।
उन्होंने कहा, लेकिन अब हम अच्छा कर रहे हैं। हमने विभिन्न पाठ्यक्रम जारी किए हैं और शैक्षणिक दबाव को कम किया है। ‘हैप्पीनेस’ कक्षाओं से बच्चों का तनाव कम हुआ और इसलिए दिल्ली में छात्रों की आत्महत्या का कोई मामला भी नहीं सामने आया। मुख्यमंत्री ने बताया कि वे छात्रों को ऐसा बनाना चाहते हैं, जो ‘नफरत’ नहीं बल्कि देश में ‘प्रेम के संदेश’ का प्रचार करें। केजरीवाल ने कहा कि पूर्व अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रंप की पत्नी ने भी दिल्ली सरकार की ‘हैप्पीनेस’ कक्षाओं में हिस्सा लिया था और वह उससे काफी प्रभावित भी हुई थीं।
