देश के पांच राज्यों में विधानसभा चुनाव अब अपने अंतिम दौर में है और 10 मार्च को परिणाम आने के बाद दिल्ली में राजनीति के गर्माने की आशंका लगाई जा रही थी लेकिन राजधानी में अभी से ही सियासत गर्माने लगी है। दिल्ली में होने जा रहे नगर निगम चुनाव के लिए हर पार्टी क्रेडिट पाने की होड़ में लगी हुई है। हर पार्टी एक दूसरे के सामने बढ़े-बढ़े वादें कर रही है।

दिल्ली के स्वास्थ्य मंत्री सत्येन्द्र जैन ने यूजीआर यानी अंडर ग्राउंड रिजर्वायर का उद्धाटन करते हुए एक ऐलान किया कि दिल्ली में 24 घंटे बिजली के साथ ही, 24 घंटे पानी भी उपलब्ध रहेगा। पानी के कनेक्शन के लिए लोगों को सिर्फ 1000 रूपए देने होंगे साथ ही तो सीवर कनेक्शन को मुफ्त करवाने की बात भी कही गई।

स्वास्थ्य मंत्री के इस ऐलान के बाद भारतीय जनता पार्टी ने अपनी प्रतिक्रिया पेश की और पूर्व मेयर और भाजपा नेता मास्टर आजाद ने कहा कि यूजीआर, भाजपा के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री स्वर्गीय डॉक्टर साहिब सिंह वर्मा की देन है क्योंकि यूजीआर की जमीन उन्ही के वक्त एक्वायर हुई थी।
आम आदमी पार्टी पर तंज कसते हुए मास्टर आजाद ने कहा कि मंत्री सत्येंद्र जैन उद्घाटन के बहाने मुंडका इलाके में अपनी जमीनों को देखने आए होंगे लेकिन उन्हें इलाके की गंदगी नहीं दिख रही। किसानों की फसलें बारिश की वजह से सड़ गई। जलभराव की वजह से घरों में दरारें आ गई। मुंडका इलाके में चारों तरफ बदहाली है।
