अधिकारी ने बताया कि यह मामला गत 12 जनवरी को सीमा शुल्क अधिकारियों द्वारा इंदिरा गांधी अंतरराष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डे से 10 लाख रुपये मूल्य के नकली नोट और 8.5 लाख रुपये मूल्य के 175 ग्राम सोने की बरामदगी से जुड़ा है। अधिकारी के अनुसार, फॉरेंसिक जांच के बाद यह पाया गया कि नकली नोट उच्च गुणवत्ता के थे और इसके परिणामस्वरूप गैर-कानूनी गतिविधियां (निरोधक) कानून की धाराएं लगायी गई थीं।
NIA ने इस सिलसिले में पहले दो आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार किया था। अधिकारी ने बताया कि वाहिद ने खुलासा किया है कि वह भारत में नकली नोट और सोने की तस्करी में शामिल गिरोह का सक्रिय सदस्य है। उन्होंने बताया कि वाहिद को शनिवार को राजधानी के पटियाला हाउस स्थित विशेष एनआईए अदालत के समक्ष पेश किया गया जहां उसे पुलिस हिरासत में भेज दिया गया। उन्होंने कहा कि मामले में आगे की जांच जारी है।
