दिल्ली के तीनों नगर निगमों के एकीकरण की प्रक्रिया पूरी हो गई है और राजधानी में आगामी 22 मई से एक ही निगम यानी दिल्ली नगर निगम अस्तित्व में आ जाएगा।
केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय ने बुधवार को एक अधिसूचना जारी कर कहा है कि राजधानी में तीनों नगर निगमों का एकीकरण कर 22 मई से एक निगम यानी दिल्ली नगर निगम अस्तित्व में आ जाएगा। उल्लेखनीय है कि संसद के बजट सत्र में राजधानी के तीनों नगर निगमों के एकीकरण से संबंधित संशोधन विधेयक को दोनों सदनों में पारित किया गया था। इस संशोधन विधेयक मैं दक्षिणी दिल्ली नगर निगम, पूर्वी दिल्ली नगर निगम और उत्तरी दिल्ली नगर निगम को मिलाकर पहले की तरह एक निगम यानी दिल्ली नगर निगम बनाने का प्रावधान किया गया था।
दक्षिणी दिल्ली नगर निगम का कार्यकाल बुधवार को पूरा हो गया है जबकि पूर्वी और उत्तरी दिल्ली नगर निगम का कार्यकाल 19 मई को पूरा हो जाएगा। इसके बाद 22 मई से दिल्ली नगर निगम अस्तित्व में आ जाएगा। केंद्र सरकार इस निगम को चलाने के लिए एक विशेष अधिकारी की नियुक्ति करेगी जो दिल्ली नगर निगम की विधिवत रूप से पहली बैठक होने तक निगम को चलाने का काम करेगा।
