राष्ट्रीय राजधानी में भीषण गर्मी और लू की स्थिति के बीच 19 मई तक आग से जुड़ी 2,000 से अधिक घटनाएं हो चुकी हैं जिनमें 42 लोगों की मौत हुई है और 117 अन्य लोग घायल हुए हैं। दिल्ली दमकल सेवा विभाग (डीएफएस) ने शुक्रवार को यह जानकारी दी। प्राप्त किए गए आंकड़ों के अनुसार, इस साल मई के पहले 19 दिनों में डीएफएस को आग से संबंधित 2,145 घटनाओं की कॉल आईं, जिनमें 117 लोग घायल हुए जबकि 42 लोगों की मौत हो गयी। दमकल विभाग ने कहा कि पिछले तीन वर्षों की तुलना में इसी अवधि में इस बार मई में अब तक आग की 2,145 घटनाएं सामने आई है जो सर्वाधिक है।
डीएफएस के मुताबिक दिल्ली में मई 2021 में आग की 2,174 घटनाएं सामने आईं थीं जबकि मई 2020 में यह संख्या 2,325 के करीब थी। मई 2019 में दिल्ली में आग की 3,297 घटनाएं दर्ज की गयी थीं। प्राप्त आंकड़ों के मुताबिक मई 2019 में आग की घटनाओं में 18 लोगों की मौत हुई थी। मई 2020 में 10 लोगों की जान गयी थी जबकि मई 2021 में 41 लोगों की मौत हुई थी। दमकल विभाग के मुताबिक इस मई में बाहरी दिल्ली के मुंडका इलाके में एक व्यावसायिक इमारत में भीषण आग लगने की घटना सबसे बड़ी थी। इसमें 27 लोगों की मौत हो गयी थी जबकि 16 अन्य घायल हो गए थे।
