हरियाणा द्वारा यमुना में पानी छोड़ने में कटौती के कारण वजीराबाद जलाशय में पानी के स्तर में आई गिरावट के मद्देनजर बृहस्पतिवार से दिल्ली के कुछ हिस्सों में पानी की आपूर्ति प्रभावित होगी। दिल्ली जल बोर्ड ने यह जानकारी दी। इसने कहा है कि वजीराबाद, चंद्रावल और ओखला जल शोधन संयंत्रों में परिचालन प्रभावित हुआ है तथा बृहस्पतिवार की सुबह से जलाशय का जलस्तर सामान्य होने तक पानी की आपूर्ति प्रभावित रहेगी।
प्रभावित होने वाले क्षेत्रों में सिविल लाइंस, हिंदू राव अस्पताल और आसपास के क्षेत्र, कमला नगर, शक्ति नगर, करोल बाग, पहाड़गंज, एनडीएमसी क्षेत्र, राजिंदर नगर, पटेल नगर, बलजीत नगर, प्रेम नगर, इंद्रपुरी, कालकाजी, गोविंदपुरी, तुगलकाबाद, संगम विहार और आम्बेडकर नगर शामिल हैं। बोर्ड ने कहा है कि प्रहलादपुर, रामलीला ग्राउंड, दिल्ली गेट, सुभाष पार्क, मॉडल टाउन, गुलाबी बाग, पंजाबी बाग, जहांगीरपुरी, मूलचंद, साउथ एक्सटेंशन, ग्रेटर कैलाश, बुराड़ी, छावनी क्षेत्रों के कुछ हिस्सों और दक्षिणी दिल्ली को भी पानी की कमी का सामना करना पड़ेगा। चंद्रावल, वजीराबाद और ओखला डब्ल्यूटीपी की क्षमता क्रमशः 90 एमजीडी, 135 एमजीडी और 20 एमजीडी है। ये संयंत्र दिल्ली छावनी सहित पूर्वोत्तर दिल्ली, पश्चिमी दिल्ली, उत्तरी दिल्ली, मध्य दिल्ली, दक्षिणी दिल्ली और नई दिल्ली नगर परिषद क्षेत्रों में पेयजल की आपूर्ति करते हैं।
