राजधानी में दो सौ यूनिट तक मुफ्त बिजली जारी रहेगी। इसके लिए बजट बढ़ाने का प्रस्ताव भेजा गया है। दिल्ली सरकार को अगले वित्तीय वर्ष 2022-23 में मुफ्त बिजली जारी रखने पर सरकारी खजाने पर 200 करोड़ रूपये अतिरिक्त भार बढ़ेगा। सूत्रों की माने तो ऊर्जा विभाग ने इस बार बिजली सब्सिडी के लिए खर्च का जो प्रस्ताव भेजा है वह 3250 करोड़ रूपये का है जो कि पिछले बजट में 3050 करोड़ रूपये था। विभाग ने पिछले वित्तीय वर्ष में बिजली उपभोक्ताओं के बिल को देखते हुए अगले बजट में बजट बढ़ाने का प्रस्ताव रखा है।
बताते चले केजरीवाल सरकार जब से सत्ता में आई है वह दिल्लीवालों को मुफ्त बिजली का प्रावधान किया है। 2019 में सरकार ने इसमें बदलाव करते हुए 0 से 200 यूनिट बिल्कुल मुफ्त बिजली का प्रावधान किया था। उसके अलाला 400 यूनिट तक प्रयोग करने वालों को बिजली के बिल पर अधिकतम 800 रूपये की सब्सिडी का प्रावधान किया गया है। उसी को ध्यान में रखकर 2021-22 में कुल तीन हजार करोड़ से अधिक का प्रावधान किया था। जिसमें बाद में बिजली के बिल बढ़ने पर बजट फिर बढ़ाया गया था।
बताते चले दिल्ली में कुल 54.5 लाख घरेलू बिजली उपभोक्ता है। अगले वित्तीय वर्ष को लेकर अनुमान है कि दिल्ली में 27.73 लाख उपभोक्ताओं का बिजली का बिल जीरो आएगा। यह संख्या कुल बिजली उपभोक्ताओं की 50 फीसदी है। इसी तरह 400 यूनिट का प्रयोग करने वाले उपभोक्ताओं की संख्या 15.5 लाख होने का अनुमान है। पिछली सर्दियों में जीरो बिजली बिल वाले उपभोक्ताओं की संख्या 32 लाख तक पहुंच गई थी, जबकि सब्सिडी पाने वाले उपभोक्ता की संख्या 12 लाख के करीब थी। इन उपभोक्ताओं के बिजली का खर्च सरकार को अपने खजाने से वहन करना पड़ता है। सर्दियों में बिजली सब्सिडी व जीरो बिल वाले उपभोक्ता की संख्या बढ़ जाती है।
