दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने पहले से पैक तथा लेबल वाले खाद्य पदार्थों पर माल एवं सेवा कर (जीएसटी) को वापस लेने की सोमवार को केंद्र सरकार से मांग की। केजरीवाल ने यहां पत्रकारों से कहा, पूरा देश तेज़ी से बढ़ती महंगाई का सामना कर रहा है और केंद्र ने खाद्य वस्तुओं पर जीएसटी लगाकर उनकी कीमत बढ़ा दी है। मैं केंद्र से इसे वापस लेने की मांग करता हूं।

पहले से पैक तथा लेबल वाले खाद्य पदार्थ मसलन आटा, दालें और अनाज के ऐसे पैकेट पर सोमवार से पांच प्रतिशत की दर से जीएसटी लगा दिया गया है जिनका वजन 25 किलोग्राम से कम है। केजरीवाल ने कहा कि दिल्ली देश का एकमात्र ऐसा राज्य है जो लोगों को नि:शुल्क स्वास्थ्य सेवा, शिक्षा, पानी, बिजली, यात्रा और अन्य बुनियादी जरूरतें मुहैया करा उन्हें महंगाई से राहत दे रहा है।
